REVIEW
Having visited 'The Sausage' on previous occasions, my partner and I were more than happy to return. Our expectations of this established favourite in Clifton Village were very high.
Whether you are visiting for your first time or you are a regular the first thing that hits you is the cosy and warm atmosphere that has been created. The restaurant has been split into two areas, the bar and the restaurant. Eating in the bar is a very relaxing and informal area whilst the restaurant offers more intimate areas to dine in.
Myself and my partner started with the Clifton Sausage Deli Platter to share. Sharing food is a great start to a meal and with a selecton of cold meats and olives we were not disappointed. Our Italian Pinot Grigio was promptly brought to our table and the second arrived as quickly as it was
ordered.
Ignoring the obvious selection of sauasages I was enticed by the pork tenderloin. Melting away in the mouth it was very nicely accompanied by mashed potato and just enough of the jus. My partner went for the Gloucester Old Spot sausages with mash. 'Simple yet delicious' was the short but perfect description. With alcohol levels rising we opted to share a sticky toffee pudding. Another classic dish that is easier to get wrong than right but once again was spot on. Definately not our last visit!
