Trailblazers like Indira Gandhi in India and Golda Maier in Israel set examples of
strong women political leaders. Having women seek and hold the highest political
offices is something that, as a woman, makes me proud. I’m hopeful that one day
the U.S. will elect a woman President and join the ranks of other nations who have
promoted women to power. There’s an African Proverb that says, “If you educate a
man you educate an individual but if you educate a woman you educate a nation.
IAQ: November 9th was the anniversary of the Death of Dr. Myles Munroe and his
wife. You worked very closely with Dr. Munroe. What would you say was the most
valuable lesson you have learned from him?
April Ripley: Queen Elle, how much time do we have? Seriously...
Dr. Munroe was a giant of a man. He and his wife, Dr. Ruth Munroe, had a strong
love for people to discover who they were created to be: leaders. It doesn't matter
your race, ethnicity, gender or socioeconomic status. Everyone was born a leader.
But, you must become that leader. A leader is only as strong as the character he
possesses. “Your talent may get you to the top, but it's your character that will keep
you there.”
