ell, to a nerd like me, the
word ‘Pulse’ always brings
to mind the ECG recording
- P-QRS-T. e basic outline of the
fest Pulse wasn’t any different.
For me, it started with the practice for
P wave. I had to play the role of a
mom, thanks to my growth hormone,
of Ayushi and Chitrakshi, both of
them my seniors. It was inspirational
to see Boka work so hard to organise
the program and I had a lot of fun
working with the Scenes people but
what fascinated me most was how
perfectly normal Homo Sapiens
transformed themselves into Homo
Neanderthalensis as soon as the food
arrived. No battle could have been
more intense than the ight for a
piece of Roti.
One of the good experiences was
working with Varad and Utkarsh to
make PULLS. One shoot I will never
forget is when they shifted a block of
the ceiling to put phones in there for
an interrogation room like effect.
Creativity and practicality at its best!
It was also interesting to understand
why and how a 20 min video can take
almost a week to make. I can never see
the lm industry the same way.
anks to basketball, I get
compliments for looking much tter
than I used to. I had lost all the extra
blubber I had acquired during the last
2 years of entrance preparation. I also
got to learn new skills in basketball,
meet lots of seniors and click seles
with Floyd. My team also went to Siri
fort to practice where we were always
defeated by 12 yr olds :P Even after a
good amount of practice, we lost the
very rst match in Pulse ( I wouldn’t
say that was very unexpected).
For me, the QRS peak would have to
be the lit nighters. I love to play games
which check both knowledge and
logic. Password, taboo, etc provided a
perfect blend of that. I had a great
time with seniors having similar
interests as mine and I have come to
admire them a lot. Winning two lit
nighters and getting 4 am treats were
the icing on the cake.
I think the most wild part (and the T
wave) was helping organise Fash.
Fashion industry is something I know
almost nothing about. Fash gave me
an insight on how seriously some
people took all these beauty
pageants. I had a wonderful time
getting to know all the girls and why
their passion was this. One advice for
guys – makeup can be extremely
deceptive !
e MRC, the delicious food at the
stalls, doing security checks, entering
the star nights with a swagger while
there was a huge crowd still waiting to
enter were some of the other
memorable experiences.
All in all, pulse provided me with what
I had expected from college life – new
adventures and new experiences.
