Husky Howl November 2013 | Page 4

FAIRMONT PREPARATORY ACADEMY, ANAHEIM, CA NOVEMBER 2013   During Club Rush, Yusi presented MUN (Model United Nations) on the first day. She quickly ramped up a large list of new recruiters who were interested in debating about different countries’ social and political issues. Back to Kenny Smith, his club “Encore for the Arts” continues to grow strong at Fairmont, as it is his second year chartering the club. His booth was great as he gave out pencils with his club’s name on them and gave out pamphlets describing what his cub plans to do in the upcoming school year. As Club Rush switched to the next day, the fun continued. Even more clubs came out and supported Fairmont students in joining in with people who share common interests. Presidents announced and advertised on the stage as music played in the background, which created an entertaining lunchtime. Club Rush was a success and hopefully it will continue to grow, as more students will gain the courage to put themselves out there and form a club! SPIRIT WEEK Homecoming Game: By Dante Dahabreh Saturday night was the homecoming football game! On Saturday night, our football team played with Santa Clarita in Yorba Linda High School from 7 pm to 10 pm. And our cute spirit team used their body and voice to cheer up the Huskies as the game went on. During the break of the game, people became exciting and yelled when the princes and princesses went toward the crowd from the side of the field. Anjali Narang and Mark Abad were elected as the homecoming prince and princess. Congratulations! It was a tough football game, but thanks all of you for giving us such a great night! Freshman Spirit Day: by Dante Dahabreh Spirit Day first took off with a blast as the day’s theme, comedy! Many people dressed up for this day as students came in funny masks and clothing to show off their funny side. The highlight of the day had to be the lunchtime activities. There was pizza for lunch as the line for the wait stretched out past the gym. Then there came the inflatables and of course the treat that everyone loves, Boba. Personally, the freshmen kicked off the Spirit Week pretty well with many activities and a light day full of fun. A nice break for once, from the hectic work of Fairmont.
