Ranger . But , it ’ s a challenge that Ranger
Christopher Cash conquers on a daily basis . One of the newest Ranger appointees was recently transferred to Huntsville , taking over for Steven Jeter , who retired after nearly 20 years with the state ’ s lead criminal investigative division .
Cash , 36 , a Conroe native and Sam Houston
State graduate , has been with the Department of Public Safety for nearly 12 years , with half of his time as a part of the Highway Patrol . He spent three years in narcotics , and in 2019 was promoted to a Texas Ranger within Company A .
The Ranger with the Huntsville office oversees major incident crime investigations in coordination with local law enforcement agencies in Walker , Trinity and Madison counties .
