Hungry Trout AA Stone Step By Step | Page 6

Now you take your wing material, in this case I am using No Fray. The piece should be the same width as your foam strips. Tie it in gently directly on top of the hook so that it's even on each side with the foam and slightly longer than the body. Now secure it down with a few tight wraps.

Trim your flash material unevenly and just longer than the wing. This is also where you want to round off the end of your wing material so that it's the same shape as a natural stonefly wing.

Take your rubber legs now and tie in one length on each side. Getting them perfect length now is not important as you can always trim it later, but you do want to make sure they are tied in at the same point on each side so that they look symetrical from the top.

Take a short piece of foam cut thin. Here I am using multi-color foam but you should use whichever color you think you can see best. You want to tie it in at a 45 degree angle from the hook shank. If its easier to do you can tie it in at a 90 degree angle using figure eight wraps.
