A UFC PPV costs $45-$60, depending on who is main eventing.
UFC fighters are paid per match, usually $40,000. "Fight of the Night" and "Performance of the Night" are two bonuses each worth $50,000. They are awarded to 2 fighters after a PPV.
UFC fighters are obligated to wear Reebok clothing the whole week before a match. This has caused some controversy amongst fights.
Most fighters have a nickname to make themselves more memorable to the audience such as Carlos "The Natural Born Killer" Condit. One of the most memorable nicknames, "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey, is a tribute to her friend the late"Rowdy" Roddy Piper.
The two words "The Octagon", which refers to the fenced in structure where matchs take place, has been copy righted by UFC.
The term "mixed martial arts" was coined at UFC 1. Before that, MMA was called cage fighting, ultimnate fighting, or no-holds-barred fight.
