SPITZER’S SEARCH FOR REDEMPTION Eliot Spitzer, the disgraced former New York governor who resigned in 2008 amid a prostitution scandal, has announced plans to run for comptroller in New York City. “I spent five years of working, doing useful things, and I hope the public will offer me an opportunity,” he told CNN. His announcement comes shortly after fellow disgraced New York politician Anthony Weiner, who resigned from Congress after a sexting scandal, entered the race for mayor in New York City. ‘THROUGH HELL WITH A SMILE ON MY FACE’ Three Cleveland women who went missing for a decade are speaking out for the first time since their rescue two months ago. Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight posted a short video to YouTube on Monday, thanking people for their outpouring of support. “I may have been through hell and back, but I am strong enough to walk through hell with a smile on my face and my head held high,” Knight said in the video. Ariel Castro, the man accused of kidnapping the women and holding them captive in his home, has pleaded not guilty to 329 charges.
