OBAMA AND CHRISTIE
TOGETHER AGAIN
President Obama and New Jersey Gov. Chris
Christie traveled to the Jersey Shore this week
just a few days after it reopened following
the destruction from Hurricane Sandy. After
weeks of government scandals, Obama had
an opportunity to highlight the successful
work of the Federal Emergency Management
Agency and to put bipartisanship on display. Christie faced harsh criticism from Republicans
for appearing with Obama when the two toured the devastation shortly before the 2012
presidential election. Ahead of Obama’s more recent trip, however, Christie sought to put
politics aside. “The fact of the matter is, he’s the president of the United States, and he
wants to come here and see the people of New Jersey,” Christie told NBC.
