SCOUTING REPORT
THE MANAGER - BRIAN PAGE
Page has been the Scholarship Lead Co-ordinator at Histon for the last three years and
was also Assistant to David Livermore for two seasons from 2010-12. Rejoined the First
Team in December 2012 as Assistant to interim Manager Nacer Relizani before
accepting the top job in May of this year. Page remains Head of Youth at Histon and
combines this with the First Team Manager’s job and has had a major impact on the
team since his return.
THE KEY MEN
LEWIS TAAFFE
Forward
Originally a striker, the midfielder/forward progressed through the youth ranks and
cemented his First Team place last season with a number of impressive performances
on the right hand side. Scored a stunning long range volley at Nuneaton Town last
season and added another nine to get to double figures by the end of 2011-12. Suffered
a broken bone in his foot in the last game of last season and has only just returned to the
starting XI, making his 50th senior start against Bradford Park Avenue and reminding
everyone of what they had been missing in his absence.
DECLAN HUNT
Midfield
19 year old attacking midfielder signed in the summer following his release by
West Ham United. Spent a couple of months with Braintree Town last season,
appearing four times for the Iron in Conference National, and joined the Stutes for
pre-season. He quickly made an impression on Manager Brian Page who in turn
wasted little time on getting the Londoner signed. Can operate centrally or up
behind a lone striker adding attacking options to the team.
OMAR BECKLES
Defender
21 year old central defender signed by Manager Brian Page in the summer of 2013
to add strength and physical presence to the heart of the defence. He moved to
Glenn Hoddle’s Academy in Spain after leaving Millwall before returning to the UK
with spells at Boreham Wood and Kettering Town and ending last season with
Billericay Town in Conference South.
