Old Wulfruninans (South) Under 10s
Old Wulfs (South) Under 10s ply their trade in Division Four of the Stourbridge and District Youth Football League. The
under 10 age group is classed as mini-soccer so matches are played on a seven-a-side basis. This is the second season
that the lads have played under the banner of Old Wulfs, but prior to that they had a year as Perton Juniors FC before the
club folded.
Home matches are played at the Old Wulfrunians Sports and Social Club in the Castlecroft district of Wolverhampton.
All of the lads attend Perton Middle School and have known each other since they started school a few years back, thus
explaining how Perton Juniors FC was born.
The team is managed by Glenn Milligan who has coached youth teams previously in the dim and distant past, including
one which boasted in its ranks current Hednesford Town player Alex Melbourne. Glenn is assisted by Wolves season
ticket holder Gareth Haynes, who doubles up as treasurer and Tony Dunning (a life-long Hednesford Town fan which is
why the lads are here today!) who is secretary and website administrator.
The aim of the team is to give the lads an opportunity to put down the X-Box controller and get some fresh air and exercise as well as affording the management trio the opportunity to impart their wisdom to their young charges.
This season is proving to be extremely tough for the lads and it isn’t so much goals that are counted, but attempts on
goal as the table below testifies!
The lads are looking forward to their afternoon at Hednesford and hopefully nobody will be compelled to ‘do a Swansea’!
