Harrison targets third HSCC title in three years

Samuel Harrison , one of the rising stars of historic single seater racing , will step up to contest a full season of Historic Formula Ford 2000 this year . Harrison , 20-years old , already has the Historic Formula Ford and Historic Formula 3 title on his racing CV from the last two seasons .
The Yorkshire driver made his FF2000 debut at the Silverstone Finals meeting last October when he borrowed the Reynard SF79 of marque founder Adrian Reynard .
That weekend opened with a victory and the car is now on loan to the Harrison family for a fall campaign this season .
“ We ’ ve had the car over the winter and it will be run by us with my father Tim ,” said Samuel . “ It ’ s great of Adrian to lend us the car . We ’ re aiming at a full season and we ’ ll go to Snetterton in April and see where we are at . But it should be a good year .”
Harrison will go head-to-head with defending champion Graham Fennymore and the unrelated Jordan Harrison in his Lola T580 at the front of the FF2000 contest .
However , the young Harrison is also keen to develop his career in modern GT racing , following a successful debut with Toyota Gazoo Racing UK in the six hours of Abu Dhabi in January , when he was part of a class podium squad .
“ I hope to do some more GT racing by any route possible ,” said Harrison , who is available for coaching in a wide range of cars . “ Abu Dhabi went really well and that ’ s where I want to be in the future ,” said Harrison .
