FEATURE : LOOKING AHEAD
Guards Trophy
What Guards Trophy is looking forward to in 2021 ! l 1 . More GT drivers . l 2 . More SR drivers . l 3 . More invitation drivers . l 4 . More Jaguar GT drivers . At present , I know of at least one new Elan driver , two new Lenham drivers and two new big banger invitation drivers . It would be great if Jaguar GT drivers
came and raced with Guards now that the HSCC Jaguar Challenge is finished .

Dunlop Saloon Car Cup
I ’ m looking forward to events that we can all take part in , not hampered too much by the challenges of COVID and that don ’ t have that feeling of impending doom because we know we haven ’ t been as careful as we might have been !
On a more positive note I am looking forward to all the cars that were promised in 2020 appearing with us ( you know who you are !). There are a few significant cars that we know have been in build and we look forward to them joining us .
We are lucky to some extent that our three rounds are relatively late in the calendar with the first being late May followed by one in late June and the final round being in late August . This does give time for the uncertainty to die down – hopefully . Most of all looking forward to seeing old
and new friends – I will be in touch ! Andrew Warner
Historic Formula Ford
I ’ m looking forward to a 2021 season hopefully unaffected by COVID and one full of close , competitive racing enjoyed by old and new members in a social , friendly and , most importantly , safe environment .
Since becoming chair I have had contact from new competitors to the championship and also some returnees . I am hoping for a return to large grids and the spectacle that Historic Formula Ford provides so well ; affordable , exciting historic motor racing at its absolute best .
Personally , as a new Chair to the championship , I hope to make far more good decisions than bad ones . I ’ m sure the members will let me know as I go along on that point !

Formula Junior
The first ever Formula Junior race in Britain was at Snetterton on 19 April 1959 , and it will certainly feel like a milestone to get back on track for a season opener there this year !
2020 was the year of the letter C : C for COVID and the pandemic of course , but far more exciting was C for Class C ; Coopers , Britannia , Kieft , Emeryson and more all hotly contested our UK Championship with the highest turnout ever for the pre ’ 61 rear-engined cars .
So , what will it be for 2021 ? A for All Aboard , B for Bouncing Back , C for Carry on , D for Dedication or E for Emerging unscathed ?! One thing is for sure , we ’ re ready and waiting for whatever 2021 has to offer !
