Kevin Kivlochan ( Historic Road Sports )
Kevin ’ s racing story goes back to the 1980s and a passion for American cars . He went to Silverstone to see a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro that was racing and , though he didn ’ t buy the car as it was just too much money , he was bowled over by the racing .
Eventually , he used ‘ every penny he had ’ to buy a Mustang GT350 and finally made his race debut at Oulton on 4 July in 1992 in an all-American race to celebrate Independence Day .
He convinced himself that he would do just one race , tick the box and retire . Now , 28 years later he is still racing . His
first Historic Road Sports title came in 1999 in TVR Griffith . He then moved up the historic racing ladder and even competed successfully in Tour Auto .
But in more recent times , Kevin has come back to his racing roots with the HSCC and added more HRS titles in 2015 ( Morgan Plus 8 ) and 2019 ( AC Cobra ). In 2020 , he became the first driver to win both Road Sports class A titles in the same year , bagging the 70s classic title in the Morgan and more HRS success in the Cobra .
As well as his on-going role within HRS , Kevin is also going to help steer the 80s Production Series over the coming year .
Andrew Warner ( Dunlop Saloon Car Cup )
“ In early years I competed in rallying – not my finest hour ! Then career , family and lack of cash kept my interest limited to spectating and doing a bit of marshalling / organisation mostly centred round Porsches ( I have one of the last air-cooled 911s and a finer car has never been built if you like cars with character which harbour a desire to kill you ).
“ About 20 years ago a chance call at Silverstone when passing led me to becoming involved with Alec Poole ’ s much missed Tour Britannia and for a number of years I was involved as ‘ a safe pair of hands ’ as Alec put it . Graham White was the Race Director for Tour Britannia and recruited me to work with the Super Touring Car Championship as he recognised that the cars ( and some of the people ) needed careful and sensitive handling .
“ More work with the HSCC has given me the opportunity to witness and understand how motor racing works . Hopefully , my background gives me the experience to see the sport from a number of angles and thereby helps me to further the interests of our wonderful club .”
