FROM THE EDITOR The world of HR is going through a rapid transformation and is becoming more and more significant as the organization extend their business functions across boundaries, bring in diverse work force and aims at providing a culture that not only nourishes growth but also ensures that employees get enough freedom to express themselves. In this 5th edition of our magazine we wish to explore the contemporary issues facing the Human Resource Personnel. 1) Employees are the greatest resource and companies need to evolve with time to ensure that they attract and retain the best talent. From promoting entrepreneurship to performance linked bonuses to offering different solutions to maintain work life balance, companies are trying to match up with the changing priorities of employees. 2) Of late Politics has seen a lot of interest from people in the corporate world. With the arrival of the AAP and people from the top tier management leaving their jobs to try their hand in bringing about a change, focus has shifted on making the government an efficiently run corporate body with a consideration for all the stakeholders involved. We explore the Indian context and attempt at giving an organizational perspective to corruption. 3) Knowledge is power and nothing spreads knowledge faster than social media. It has deeply penetrated the lives of people and organizations are reinventing themselves to leverage the opportunity it offers both in analytics and employee and customer engagement.
