Have you noticed a property in your area that ’ s been for sale for some time ? After a while , the For Sale sign starts to lean over which sends a message saying “ I ’ m tired and uninteresting ”.
My sympathies go out to sellers who sit around hoping for the right buyer to materialise and pay their price . Constantly getting a home ready for inspections and scheduled open house viewings is a lot of work . But it gets worse .
Let me take you inside a hypothetical open house where the property has been for sale for many months . Typically , at some point during the open house , one or more buyers will ask the real estate professional “ How long has this home been for sale ?” The agent will tell the buyer when the home was first listed for sale . The buyer will respond ; “ Well that ’ s a long time . Why is it taking so long ? When do you think the sellers will meet the market ?”
