5. Obtain cooperation from the person being read
DON’T PLAY SOLO
1. See Chapter 1
2. By asking a person for advice, you compliment them and
motivate them to want to help you.
3. Draw him to a climate of rapport by starting off with some
statements that are obvious truisms.
4. Condition him to make a positive response. Establishing a
pattern of affirmative responses establishes a positive
orientation.
5. Ask for feedback!
6. Holding a person’s hand is an excellent way to create
rapport!
7. If a friend of the person being read is present: Great!

How to do it?
* Occasionally ask: “Do you understand?” “Do you follow?”
“Does that make sense to you?”
* Ad “Isn’t it?”, “weren’t they?”, …. Whenever possible
* Equivoque:
“This is (was) NOT …. … is it? (was it?)”
If the person answers “NO”, then confirm: “I thought so”
If he answers “YES”, equally confirm: “I knew it all along”
