Pathology Services
UTSD provides conventional biopsy testing, cytopathology, im-
munohistochemistry and direct immunofluorescence testing for
mucocutaneous diseases. We offer complimentary supplies,
with delivery via FedEx, local courier or US Postal Service.
Diagnosis is usually provided within two business days of
receiving most biopsy specimens, with phone or email consul-

Sterilizer Monitoring Service
To help dentists comply with ADA, OSHA and TSBDE recom-
mendations, UTSD provides a biological sterilizer monitoring
service. At the interval of your choosing (weekly or monthly),
you will receive a biological indicator test. Sterilize the indicator
in the machine you want to test, then use the pre-addressed en-
velope to send the indicator to the lab. UTSD contracts with
Crosstex/SPSMedical for spore testing. Results will be available
via secure login. In the event of positive findings, you will be no-
tified immediately and confidentially. For information, call
