Important Note About Policy Violations During Finals Week :

Finals week ( Friday , May 11 at 11:59pm – Friday , May 18 at 7:00am ) can be a very stressful time for students living on-campus . While some people have only one final , others can have 3-5 during the course of the week . One of our goals is to maintain an environment that is conducive to academic success . Please keep in mind while you are packing up and moving out that people are studying and sleeping . Try to be respectful to those students .
Please remember : “ Sanctions for policy violations during finals week will be more strict . Typically , sanctions given for violations during finals week will be increased by one level .” ( Student handbook , page 57 )
Most Common Policy Violations During Finals Week – Things to Avoid :
• Alcohol : »»
Leaving alcohol in room / microfridges if you are under 21 .

If you are over 21 and store alcohol in common areas with underage roommates . ( If an alcohol violation is found in rooms or suites during checks , all residents who live in the area where it was found will be held responsible . )
• Marijuana
• Vandalism
• Noise
If You Are Found In Violation of Policies During Finals Week :
Even if you are not returning as a resident , you will still face consequences for your actions :
• Letters will be sent home to inform you to meet with staff regarding policy violations .
• Sanctions to complete over the summer , including educational sanctions .
• Financial restitution and / or fines .
If you fail to respond to communications during or after finals week or fail to complete your responsibilities & sanctions , the following may occur :
• Holds placed on your Fresno State account ( Preventing you from accessing your grades or registering for classes .)
• Additional educational sanctions .
• Referral to the Dean of Students .
IF YOU ARE RETURNING AS A RESIDENT FOR 2018-19 , YOU MAY ALSO LOSE YOUR HOUSING FOR THE 2018-19 YEAR IF YOU VIOLATE POLICIES DURING FINALS WEEK .
