Page 2 Housing Happenings Closing/Check-out: How should I leave my room? Bedroom/Suites: • All rooms must be cleaned, vacuumed and have garbage removed prior to checking out. • Furniture must be in same configuration as during check-in. • Beds must be bunked (with pins) over the desk with dresser, file cabinet and chair underneath desk. • Microfridge - Every room or suite will have at least one. Make sure it’s clean and defrosted, but Do Not Turn Off. All persons in a room or suite is responsible for cleaning the microfridge(s) provided and will be charged if they are not cleaned. • Bedrails attached to proper bed. • Bathrooms (suite vanity) empty and cleaned. • Set thermostat to 78 degrees. • Lock windows, shut blinds. • Turn off lights, shut and lock door. How do I check-out of my room? Choose From Two Options Below: Express Check-Out: Use the Express Check-out Form 24 hours-a-day until May 18, 3:00pm. Fill out the form and turn it into the Atrium, along with your mattress pad. A staff member will go through your room after your departure and assess any damages. Full Check-Out: Come to the Atrium when you are ready to check-out.* An RLS member will escort you to your room to assess any damages. At that time, you will return your mattress pad and fill out a mail forwarding address card. *Available check-out times: • Monday - Thursday: 9:00am - 10:00pm • Friday: 9:00am - 3:00pm You are required to leave University Courtyard 24 hours after your last final. All check-outs must be completed by 3:00pm on Friday. Once checked out you may not re-enter your room. What if I’m graduating? • Residents must fill out an extended stay application at the Atrium Desk and submit before Friday, May 11 at 12:00pm. • Check your email for a message notifying you that you were approved for late check-out, then come to the Atrium before 5:00pm on Wednesday, May 16 to re-program your room key for an extended stay. • Graduating students will not be charged the extra one night stay. • All graduating residents must be checked out by 5:00pm on Saturday, May 19. Please see Atrium Desk when you’re ready to check-out. I’m staying for Summer Session, what should I do? • We must have a completed summer application on file. Applications are available at the Atrium desk or at www.universitycourtyard.org. • Residents must fill out an extended stay application at the Atrium desk and submit before Friday, May 11 at 12:00pm and pay $23.00 for each additional night stayed. • Summer Session room assignments are given at check-in. • Summer Session students must come to the Atrium Customer Service Desk before 5:00pm on Wednesday, May 16 to re-program their room key for an extended stay. • Plan to move out of your current room on Sunday, May 20 after 9:00am and pick up your new Saflok key and check-in form at the Atrium Desk. • All moves must be complete by Monday, May 21 at12:00pm. Are you a 2018-19 Returning Resident? Your $150 Security Deposit will remain on file for the 2018-19 year. Any unpaid balance must be paid before June 1 to keep your current room assignment. • Fall check-in begins on Sunday, August 19, 2018, at 9:00am. • If you plan to arrive later than 11:00pm on Monday, August 20 you must notify University Courtyard by July 31 for a Late Arrival date, or your bed assignment may be given away.
