Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City
Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City where you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City( B)
Today spend the day at leisure to discover this bustling city. You may like to like to visit Ben Thanh Market for some bargains or choose to add on an Active Asia tour to the Cu Chi Tunnels.
Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City- Overnight Train( B)
Upon check out from your hotel, spend the day at leisure to further explore or stock up on bottled water and snacks for your train journey this evening. You will be met at your hotel for a transfer to Ho Chi Minh City Railway Station for an overnight train to Danang.
Note: Trains in Vietnam are very basic, offering shared 4-berth compartments with upper and lower bunk beds. Air-conditioning, a table and light are in each compartment.
Day 4: Danang- Hoi An
Upon arrival at Danang Railway Station, you will be met and transferred to your Hoi An hotel where you will spend the next three nights. The remainder of the day is free to spend at leisure.
Day 5: Hoi An( B)
Spend the day at leisure. This charming town is a great place for tailor made clothes and souvenirs. Hoi An also boasts an excellent beach, lush countryside surroundings, is close to My Son Holy Land and features several local cooking class restaurants. Ask Active Asia about sightseeing tours on offer.
Day 6: Hoi An( B) Spend the day at leisure.
Day 7: Danang- Overnight Train( B)
After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to Danang Railway Station for your train journey to Hanoi. See rural Vietnam by day as you travel north. Spend the night on board the train.
Day 8: Hanoi
On arrival in Hanoi, you will be met and transferred to your Hanoi hotel located in the Old Quarter.
Day 9: Hanoi( B)
Spend the day at leisure. Early mornings and evenings around Hoan Kiem Lake offer a great opportunity to people watch. The Water Puppet Theatre located across from the lake is a fun showcase of traditional entertainment from the rural sector and is well worth a visit.
Day 10: Hanoi( B) Today tour arrangements end upon check out from your hotel.
Day 1: Hanoi( D)
Arrive in Hanoi. This afternoon, a walking tour takes you to the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake. Tonight, be introduced to Vietnamese cuisine at KOTO – a restaurant offering a vocational training program.
Day 2: Hanoi( B)
Enjoy a city tour covering the main sights of Hanoi with the afternoon spent at leisure. This evening, enjoy a Water Puppet Show.
Day 3: Hanoi – Halong Bay( B, L, D)
Head to Halong Bay for an overnight cruise- enjoy freshly caught seafood and local food from the region.
Day 4: Halong Bay – Hue( B)
Cruise back to port and transfer to Hanoi Airport for an evening flight to Hue.
Day 5: Hue( B, L)
Tour Hue- visit Tu Duc Tomb and the Ancient Citadel. Serving a twist on the popular pancake, head to a speciality restaurant to enjoy fresh ingredients served in a pancake with dipping sauces.
Day 6: Hue – Hoi An( B, D)
Travel the scenic Hai Van Pass. En-route to Hoi An, visit the Cham Museum, Marble Mountain and China Beach. Tonight, enjoy dinner at a riverside restaurant featuring a sampling menu of the local cuisine.
Day 7: Hoi An( B)
On a walking tour explore this quaint town with the afternoon spent at leisure.
Day 8: Hoi An( B, L)
Enjoy a cooking class at Red Bridge Cooking School – be taught some key dishes and learn about Vietnamese ingredients. The afternoon is spent at leisure.
Day 9: Hoi An – Ho Chi Minh City( B, D)
Transfer to Danang Airport for a flight to Ho Chi Minh City where the afternoon is spent at leisure. This evening, enjoy a Steamboat dining experience – food cooked right at your table, fresh and delicious!
Day 10: Ho Chi Minh City( B, L, D)
Experience a day of sightseeing including the Cu Chi Tunnels and Ho Chi Minh City’ s main sights. Tonight, feast on a Vietnamese barbeque- tiny charcoal tubs at your table with a choice of meats and vegetables for you to grill to taste – all in a fantastic outdoor setting.
Day 11: Mekong Delta Day Tour( B, L)
Head to the Mekong Delta- board a private boat to explore some of the tributaries. Visit orchards and local home industries. Sample the array of fruit, freshly caught fish and produce from the region.
Day 12: Ho Chi Minh City( B)
Today transfer to Ho Chi Minh City Airport where tour arrangements end.
