the Volcanoes’. This itinerary gives you
spectacular views of the Andes, finishing off
with quality time spent in Cuenca, a well
known and gorgeous colonial city.
Day 1: Quito
Transfer from Quito to your chosen hacienda. Day 1: Quito
Travel northwest to Papallacta, where you can
soak in the hot spring water pools. Day 1: Quito – Lasso
Travel from Quito to Lasso and discover the
stunning Cotopaxi National Park, home to one
of the highest volcanoes in the world.
Day 2: Hacienda
Spend the day relaxing at your hacienda
or enjoying the surroundings on various
excursions.
Day 3: Quito
Transfer from your hacienda back to Quito.

Las Palmeras – Otavalo
This 150 year old hacienda with its cottages
and beautiful gardens is tucked in a lush
mountain valley, walking distance to the
Otavalo markets and a picturesque two hours
drive from Quito.

Pinsaqui – Otavalo
Hacienda Pinsaqui is perched under Imbabura
Volcano and was previously a colonial
textile house. Today Pinsaqui still retains its
authenticity where every room has a unique
personality with cosy fireplaces and intricate
detail, ensuring you relax in a real Ecuadorian
setting.

Days 2-3: Amazon Jungle
Continue to the jungle, where you will arrive
by canoe. Spend an incredible two nights in
an Amazon lodge. An indigenous Quichua
guide will explain about the incredibly diverse
flora and fauna of the forest. Visit a village
nearby to experience the local life, also a
small orphanage and rehabilitation centre for
wildlife in need.
Day 4: Baños
Transfer to Baños, a small mountain village.
See how the local women make their intricate
Balsa fabrics. Enjoy the afternoon to relax
or join an optional excursion such as hiking,
mountain biking or horse back riding.
Day 5: Quito
Visit the Salasaca Indian village, who survive
mainly from selling their handmade weavings
that they are famous for. Stop at Cotopaxi
National Par k before arriving in Quito late
afternoon where your tour arrangements end.
Day 2: Lasso – Baños
Depart for a picturesque three hour journey
to Baños with an option to see Quilotoa Crater
Lake and the indigenous artisan village of
Tigua.
Day 3: Baños
A free day to explore the wonderful
surroundings such as the Pailon del Diablo
Waterfalls, or maybe take a hiking, biking or
rafting excursion.
Day 4: Baños – Riobamba
Spend the morning at Salasaca Village and
Chimborazo before arriving in Riobamba.
Day 5: Riobamba – Cuenca
Take a train ride down the “Devil’s Nose”
from Riobamba to Alausi. Visit Ingapirca, the
most important Inca ruins in Ecuador, before
driving to the beautiful city of Cuenca.
Day 6: Cuenca
Enjoy a half day walking tour to learn about
Cuenca. This attractive colonial city is full of
museums, convents and markets.
Day 7: Cuenca – Quito
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Quito
where your tour arrangements end.
La Cienega – Cotopaxi
This hacienda is the site where historical
national events occured, and is the perfect
choice to learn about Ecuador’s past while
enjoying the stunning building and well-kept
gardens.
