and breathtakingly high, Bolivia is known as the most
authentic of South American countries. Its remote location perched in the
Andes Mountains has facilitated in keeping its ancient traditions alive. Even
in La Paz, the world’s highest capital city at more than 3700m, local women
continue to dress in traditional voluminous petticoats, vibrant cloaks and
recognisable bowler hats. Meet many of these ladies in the lively street
markets where you can pick up everything for a bargain, from an iPod or an
alpaca jersey, to bits of dried llama in the Witchdoctor’s Market.
Bolivia's natural landscapes and collection of wildlife is about as diverse as
your imagination can stretch - not only home to the world's largest salt flats,
but frantic piranha and river dolphins are part of the attraction in visiting all
corners of Bolivia. Lake Titicaca is an almost mystical landmark. Titicaca is
one of the world’s highest lakes, nestled under the dramatic Cordillera Real
mountains and is the birthplace of the Children of the Sun, the Inca.

Bolivia is a country so rich in culture and has changed very little over the
centuries, its raw intensity will stand out as some of the most educational
times of your South American journey.
