culture rich in history. Cuzco is the gateway to the fabled Inca Empire,
then travel on to the stunning Sacred Valley. Machu Picchu will await
your much anticipated visit as your last, but no less incredible stop. See the best of Peru in this comprehensive itinerary that will guide you
through to Bolivia. Begin in Peru’s capital of Lima before heading to the
spellbound city of Cuzco and nearby Sacred Valley. Aguas Calientes and
Machu Picchu is the next stop. Travel southbound to Puno, cruise Lake
Titicaca and the Uros Islands before finishing in La Paz, Bolivia.
Day 1: Lima
Arrive in Lima and transfer to your hotel. Take a fascinating Lima city
tour, absorbing the ancient sights and museums of this bustling city.
Lima is famous for its world-class restaurants, so make the most of its
offerings and enjoy a culinary tasting journey. Day 1: Lima
Transfer to your hotel and enjoy an entertaining night in the exciting
Peruvian capital of Lima.
Day 2: Cuzco
Transfer to Lima Airport and depart for your flight to Cuzco (flight
additional). After you've checked into your hotel, the afternoon is free
to wander the cobblestone streets of Cuzco and soak up the buzzing
atmosphere of one of the most mystical cities in the world.
Day 3: Sacred Valley
Prepare to depart Cuzco on your full day excursion to the Sacred Valley.
Sights include visiting the Indian market of Pisac, and meandering the
historic Ollantaytambo fortress. After the tour, you will be dropped off
at your accommodation in the Sacred Valley for an overnight stay.
Day 4: Machu Picchu
Board the Vistadome train bound for Machu Picchu for your guided visit
of the legendary “Lost City of the Incas” before spending the night in the
buzzing town of Aguas Calientes.
Day 5: Cuzco
Enjoy your morning in Aguas Calientes at leisure or to explore Machu
Picchu for a second time (additional cost), before catching the train
back to Cuzco. Spend the evening wandering Cuzco and savour the local
delectable cooking smells that entrance the streets.
Day 6: Cuzco
Take in the many wonderful sights of Cuzco on a half day city tour,
exploring the local ruins including Sacsayhuaman, Kenko, Puca Pucara
and Tambomachay. Spend another evening in Cuzco, ensuring you
accomplish all the souvenir shopping.
Day 7: Cuzco
After breakfast, transfer to Cuzco Airport where your arrangements end.
Day 2: Lima – Cuzco
Transfer to Lima Airport for your flight to Cuzco (flight additional).
Arrival in Cuzco and settle in for a two night stay.
Day 3: Cuzco
A Cuzco city tour will take you around all the major sights, then also
visit Koricancha ruins, Tambomachay ruins and nearby fortresses. The
afternoon is free to appreciate what Cuzco has to offer.
Day 4: Sacred Valley
Enjoy a full day Sacred Valley tour visiting Pisac and the local markets,
then Ollantaytambo fortress. Overnight in the Sacred Valley.
Day 5: Machu Picchu
Catch the Vistadome Train to the hidden fortress of Machu Picchu. A
guided tour of these sacred ruins will help bring this amazing history to
life. Return to Aguas Calientes for an overnight stay.
Day 6: Machu Picchu – Cuzco
A free morning to explore Aguas Calientes, or take the opportunity to
visit Machu Picchu for a second time (second entrance fee additional)
then return to Cuzco by Vistadome Train in the afternoon. Make the
most of one last night in Cuzco.
Day 7: Puno
Drive from Cuzco to Puno on a full day bus journey, visiting ruins along
the way. Arrive into Puno for a two night stay.
Day 8: Uros & Taquile Islands
Explore the Uros Islands on Lake Titicaca for a full day, and learn about
the fascinating culture of the Lake Titicaca locals. Return to Puno.
Day 9: Lake Titicaca Crossing
Cross Lake Titicaca to Bolivia, visiting some interesting islands along the
way. Enjoy the scenery on a road transfer and stay two nights in La Paz.
Days 10-11: La Paz
Enjoy a full day tour of Tiahuanaco Ruins and the Valley of the Moon,
these are the ancient highlights of La Paz. Transfer to La Paz Airport in
the afternoon for your onward arrangements.
