K nown as the ‘Gateway to Asia’, Singapore is a vibrant tropical destination, world
renowned for its shopping, eateries, attractions, style and cleanliness. Whether you
head there for two days or ten, you’ll find no trip to the ‘Lion City’ is ever the same.
Not many cities in Asia can boast Singapore’s fascinating ethnic mix. Throughout
history, migration has left its stamp on the city’s culture. Visit the bright sari and
bangle stores in the old shop houses of Little India, and in Chinatown explore the
many antique stores or bargain hunt for silk. For the shopaholics, Orchard Road is
a must; the variety and quality here will leave you spoilt for choice. Allow plenty of
time, as you’ll be lucky to see half of it in one day.
With the huge developments recently around the Marina Bay area; the iconic
Marina Bay Sands, the Singapore Flyer and Gardens by the Bay. Not to mention
Resorts World ® hosting Universal Studios Singapore ® , and S.E.A. Aquarium TM , it is
no wonder people keep going back to this city time and time again.
The river plays host to plenty of fabulous bars and restaurants in the three popular
quay areas; Clarke Quay being the most famous, Boat Quay and Robertson Quay.
Although Singapore has come a long way over the past 10 years and now showcases
itself as a modern international city, you can’t leave without heading to Raffles
Hotel for High Tea or a legendary Singapore Sling; an experience that carries with it
generations of colonial history and tradition.
