For the adventurer who wants to see as much of Sabah as possible but doesn’ t want to summit Mt Kinabalu, this is your opportunity. Go for a dip in the awe-inspiring Wind and Clearwater caves of Gunung Mulu National Park then get up close and personal with the orang utans at a rehabilitation centre. This tour is part of The Jane Goodall Collection by G Adventures.
Day 1-2: Kota Kinabalu – Gunung Mulu National Park Arrive Kota Kinabalu and fly to Mulu and head into the park for a walk through the forest and explore Deer Cave.
Day 3: Gunung Mulu National Park Travel by longboat along the Melinau River to the Wind and Clearwater caves and enjoy a picnic in the rainforest.
Day 4: Gunung Mulu National Park – Limbang Continue trekking the Headhunter Trail to Kuala Terikan and board a boat down the river to Limbang.
Day 5: Limbang – Pulau Tiga Experience to the tropical island of Pulau Tiga and trek to a mud volcano.
Day 6: Pulau Tiga Enjoy a free day on this tropical paradise. Opt to go snorkelling, kayaking, or visit Snake Island.
Day 7: Pulau Tiga – Kota Kinabalu Depart for Kuala Penyu by boat where you will transfer to Kota Kinabalu.
Day 8: Kota Kinabalu – Kota Belud Head to Tambatuon village and meet the local community. Visit a local farm and gather fresh ingredients for your cooking class.
Day 9: Kota Belud – Sungai Kinabatangan Continue to the jungle lodge on the Kinabatangan River, Sabah’ s longest.
Day 10: Sungai Kinabatangan Today seek out proboscis monkeys, pygmy elephants, macaques, orang utans and gibbons.
Day 11: Sungai Kinabatangan – Sepilok Make your way to Sepilok to visit the Orang Utan rehabilitation centre and the sun bear conservation centre.
Borneo – Sabah Adventure 10 days / 9 nights
Revive your sense of adventure on this jam-packed tour. Hike rainforest trails and summit Mt Kinabalu to watch the sunrise. Visit the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre and meet these special creatures. And after all the excitement and exercise, there will still be the chance to see baby turtles in their natural habitat.
Day 1-2: Kota Kinabalu – Mount Kinabalu Spend the day in Kota Kinabalu before heading off to Mt Kinabalu with an option to hike the trails.
Day 3: Mount Kinabalu It’ s time to conquer Mount Kinabalu. During the first day climb to Laban Rata, enjoy a packed lunch on the way and a buffet-style dinner.
Day 4: Mount Kinabalu Summit Mt Kinabalu( 3-5 hours) in time for sunrise. Return to Laban Rata then continue on to Poring Hot Springs.
Day 5: Mount Kinabalu – Sukau Travel up the Kinabatangan River, to Sukua where you can enjoy an optional nighttime cruise.
Day 6: Sukau Free time in Sukau plus an afternoon cruise to spot animals along the river.
Day 7: Sukau – Sepilok Visit Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre to learn all about these cute primates.
Day 8: Sepilok – Turtle Island Enjoy a boat trip and overnight on Turtle Island.
Day 9: Turtle Island – Kota Kinabalu Visit Sandakan POW Memorial Park and fly back to Kota Kinabalu.
Day 10: Kota Kinabalu Enjoy your final day in Borneo before heading off on your next adventure.
Day 12: Sepilok – Pulau Libaran Take a tour of the island’ s turtle hatchery and learn about the turtle conservation program.
Day 13-14: Pulau Libaran / Kota Kinabalu Fly back to Kota Kinabalu where your tour will finish.
