Grand Train Tour of Switzerland 8 days / 7 nights
This 1280 kilometre epic journey, of panoramic railways, whisks you through towns and villages, over mountains and past glaciers, lakes and rivers. Hop off whenever you feel like exploring.
Day 1: Oslo – Voss Depart Oslo and travel through a landscape of farmland, forests and glacier-capped mountains to Voss.
Day 2: Voss – Gudvangen – Flam – Mydral – Voss Experience a full-day‘ Norway in a Nutshell’ sightseeing tour. Waterfalls line the road as your coach weaves down the valley to Gudvangen. Take a ferry through the narrow Naeroy Fjord and ascend the Flam Valley aboard the famous electric train, a real marvel of railway engineering. Catch a train from Myrdal back to Voss, passing through the 5 kilometres long Gravhals Tunnel along the way.
Day 3: Voss – Bergen Take a train ride to Bergen to soak up the character and charm of this ancient city.
Day 4: Bergen Tour ends after breakfast this morning.
Day 1: Interlaken Arrive Interlaken.
Day 2: Interlaken Excursion to Jungfraujoch“ Top of Europe” by mountain railway.
Day 3: Interlaken – Lucerne Travel from Interlaken to Lucerne on board the Golden Pass Panoramic train( including a boat ride from Interlaken to Brienz).
Day 4: Lucerne Excursion to Mount Pilatus. By train or boat to Alpnachstad and by the steepest cogwheel railway in the world to the top( known as the Dragon Mountain).
Day 5: Lucerne Journey ends in Lucerne.
Day 1-2: Zurich – Lucerne – Interlaken Enjoy the town squares, churches and steamships on Lake Lucerne. Take the Golden Pass line over the Brunig Pass to Interlaken.
Day 3: Interlaken – Jungfraujoch – Montreux Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe round trip to experience an ice wonderland. Back from Interlaken, continue on through the scenic Simme Valley to Montreux on Lake Geneva.
Day 4: Montreux – Martigny – Zermatt Excursion to Mount Pilatus. By train or boat to Alpnachstad and by the steepest cogwheel railway in the world to the top.
Day 5: Zermatt – St Moritz Experience the Glacier Express.
Day 6: St Moritz – Lugano Ride the Bernina Express train to Tirano.
Day 7: Lugano – Lucerne On the Wilhelm Tell Express enjoy rail and a Lake Lucerne Steamer Boat ride.
Day 8: Lucerne
