Take to the Tracks
There’s something delicious about travelling
by rail, especially in Europe. There’s timeless
atmosphere in the grand old stations – a sense
of adventures to be had in far-off places.
Aside from the romanticism of a bygone era,
there’s a lot to be said for including rail travel
in a European itinerary with rail networks
that are both efficient and widespread, and
the trains are well maintained, comfortable
and generally run on time (in some countries
you can set your watch by their arrival and
departure). To further the convenience factor,
there’s a wide range of passes available, from
single country consecutive-day passes to
multi-country flexible passes that are valid
for a set number of days up to three months.
Single Country Passes – If you really want to explore just one country in depth
then the Single Country Pass is probably going to be your best option. It is the most
comfortable and relaxing way to travel and you can cover big distances in a short
time. Choose the number of days you want to travel and then you can use the train
as many times you want on those selected days. For additional touring experiences,
consider a Eurail Select Pass like France and Italy, or Italy and Spain and discover a
corner of Europe that you won’t see travelling by road.
Eurail Global Flexi Pass –If you want to explore a few different European
countries by rail, then a Eurail Pass is the way to go. Choose your own itinerary
stopping anywhere on any day you like, just select the number of countries you
want to see and the number of days you want to travel and find the pass that fits
best. It allows you to travel in and between 28 different countries including Austria,
Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands,
Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

Glacier Express Chocolate Train Golden Pass
Crossing 291 bridges, passing through 91 tunnels
and travelling over the 2033 metre high Oberalp
Pass, the Glacier Express connects two world-
class resorts: Zermatt and St. Moritz. Ride in
the comfort of a modern panorama car and see
Switzerland up close and personal: dense forest
and peaks capped with eternal snow. Travel in a 1915 vintage Pullman car and/or the
modern panorama car. Depart from Montreux
and ascend to Gruyères. Your pass includes
admission to the cheese factory and the
stunning castle in Gruyères. Continue to Broc,
situated between Lake Gruyères and the Alps,
and visit the Nestlé chocolate factory. This journey offers spectacular scenery as it
winds its way along the Swiss Riviera. Through
vineyards and gardens on its ascent, providing
that last glimpse back to Lake Geneva. From
here, pass green pastures, grazing cows and
quaint chalets tucked onto mountain slopes,
before the final hill climb onto the Brunig Pass.
