Denarau is a man-made sanctuary
comprising a range of hotel resorts. The Mamanuca Islands are your go
to for easy off-beach snorkelling,
with resorts such as Castaway
Island and Mana Island Resort
both offering the option. Good for people who want to
experience multiple islands in one
holiday. Awesome Adventures will
take you to both the Yasawa and
Mamanuca Islands.
The Yasawa Islands, albeit further
out, are where you’ll be able to
snorkel with Manta Rays. Barefoot
Island and Manta Ray Island
Resort offer snorkelling trips to
see the rays between May and
October. The Bula Pass is pre-paid and
flexible; pay upfront but choose
to island hop within a 5-21 day
timeframe. Choose a pre-planned
multi island package, or free style
it by designing your own.
The Radisson Blu is home to three
child-friendly swimming pools
and one adults-only pool, a water
slide and complimentary WiFi
throughout.
Port Denarau’s upmarket marina
is well facilitated with restaurants,
including the Hard Rock Café,
offering classic American cuisine
and colouring in activities for
children.
For mainland fun, the Coral Coast’s
Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort flanks the
beachfront and boasts a children’s
playground, kids club, an extensive
range of daily activities and ‘kids
eat free’ incentives at the buffet
restaurant, as well as movie nights
and a kids TV room.
Families are spoilt for choice.

Denarau has no whitesand beach
but various day trips allow for
snorkelling while you’re island
hopping, and fearless types will
want to experience snorkelling
with sharks at Kuata Island, the
closest of the Yasawa Islands to
Nadi.
All resorts offer snorkelling gear
for you to use during your stay or,
for the avid snorkelers pack your
own before you leave.
Captain Cook Cruises offer day,
night and dinner cruises, as well
as multi day itineraries over 3,
4, 7 or 11 nights, with a range of
cruises to suit all.
Blue Lagoon Cruises boast three
boutique itineraries around the
Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands.
With a maximum of 68 passengers
and four hours cruising per day,
you’ll have ample time to discover
the idyllic islands.
