rilliant ice blue glaciers, whales, moose, bears, remote wilderness and
unique native cultures are just some of the unforgettable memories that ‘The
Last Frontier’, the largest state the USA has to offer. Five distinct regions make
up this great land – South Central, Inside Passage, the Interior, Far North and
Southwest. Anchorage is the gateway to the adventure, culture and incredible
landscapes.
Great
Bear Lake Start the day with some shopping and end it watching the carving
of a glacier on board a narrated cruise. Cruise the waters of the Inside Passage
and be surrounded by pure nature. Or from Juneau, hike through the rainforest
along Mendenhall Lake and onto glacial terrain, a unique experience. Travel
into the Interior region to Denali National Park, finding not only wildlife but the
tallest mountain in North America – Denali. For a unique winter experience you
can’t go past Fairbanks with dog mushing, ice sculptors and the famous Aurora
Borealis – the Northern Lights. Vast and remote, crossing the Arctic Circle
is what the Far North is all about. View brown bears in their natural habitat
feeding on salmon on Kodiak Island in the Southwest region. An area where you
get to see changing landscapes of volcanic terrain in the Katmai National Park to
the windy grasslands of the Aleutian Islands.
