Sonora Resort is not only luxurious, with
its stunning setting among towering trees,
postcard views and the background music of
waves lapping the shoreline, it also allows you
to reconnect with nature. The Knight Inlet floating lodge is tucked
into Glendale Cove, offering one of the few
protected anchorages in the inlet. From here
begin each day’s adventure into the wilderness
that is the native habitat of the grizzly bear. Churchill is a small northern community with
a lot of character. Experience a combination
of polar bear viewing and activities around the
community of Churchill to learn of the local
history and culture.
Day 1: Vancouver – Sonora Resort
Transfer by helicopter or floatplane to Sonora
Resort on beautiful Sonora Island. Day 1: Vancouver – Campbell River
Depart Vancouver by scheduled flight to
Campbell River. Day 1: Winnipeg
Day 2: Sonora Resort
Take an optional guided eco boat tour, see
grizzly bears, kayak, go rafting, hike the
coastal rainforest or try heli-hiking. Fishing is
one of the key experiences at the resort, with
heli-fly-fishing, river fly-fishing and salmon
fishing available. Day 2: Campbell River – Knight Inlet
Travel by floatplane to Knight Inlet Lodge and
take part in a welcome orientation for wildlife
viewing.
Day 3: Sonora Resort – Vancouver
Your stay at Sonora Resort ends when you
depart after lunch.
Day 3: Knight Inlet Lodge
Observe gizzly bears from boats or viewing
stands along the river and enjoy a scenic
boat ride of Glendale Cove. You will have an
interpretive guide on all tours.
Day 4: Knight Inlet Lodge – Campbell
River – Vancouver
Seaplane to Campbell River then board your
flight to Vancouver.
Day 2: Winnipeg – Churchill
Take an early flight to Churchill, explore and
meet the locals. You are transferred from
town to the Tundra Buggy Launch where
you board a buggy and begin your search for
wildlife including the majestic polar bear.
Meander over a system of established trails,
stop to enjoy the scenery, spot the wildlife and
take photos. As daylight fades you head back
to town.
Day 3: Churchill – Winnipeg
Another trip out in the Tundra Buggy before
flying back to Winnipeg for an overnight stay.
Day 4: Winnipeg
Tour ends in Winnipeg.
