Toronto
A perfect day in Toronto
T oronto is a sophisticated, cosmopolitan city with fun and enlightening
things happening around every corner.
Around half of all Toronto ‘locals’ were born somewhere else. Start
wandering the neighbourhoods and you’ll find ethnic enclaves with the
delicious food and fascinating culture that goes with them, and uniquely
Canadian experiences too. Tour the world in one of the Toronto region’s
five Chinatowns, as well as Little Italy, Corso Italia, GreekTown, Little
Portugal and the Gerrard India Bazaar.
In winter, head underground and explore the PATH. The longest
underground walkway on record, which links about 1200 shops,
restaurants and services along its 30 kilometre climate-controlled route.
Discover spectacular views over Toronto and Lake Ontario from
342 metres up the CN Tower. Feeling daring? Look down through the
glass floor to the bustling streets below. There’s three observation levels
to explore including the LookOut and SkyPod. Stretching out to the
horizon, visibility on a clear day can reach 160 kilometres.
Toronto is home to one of the longest urban lakefron ts in the world and
is a great place to explore on a sunny day. On the weekends throughout
the summer enjoy the food and crafts at the Waterfront Artisan Market,
or pull up a chair at one of the picturesque lakeside cafés and restaurants
for views of the water, tall ships and city skyline.
