OTO DEVELOPMENT ’ S NEW CEO
Rob Rain has joined OTO Development as CEO . Rain will oversee strategic initiatives to drive growth across OTO ’ s portfolio , with an emphasis on increasing efficiency and maximizing profitability while continuing to enhance guest experience .
Rain succeeds OTO ’ s former CEOs — the late Corry Oakes , who helmed the company for its first 18 years , and Todd Turner , who recently retired . Rain will be based out of the company ’ s headquarters in downtown Spartanburg , S . C . Most recently , Rain served as the president of the industrial division at Johnson Development Associates .
DAN PEEK TO LEAD JLL IN AMERICAS
Veteran hotel and hospitality brokerage leader Daniel C . Peek has joined JLL as president of its Americas region . Throughout his career , Peek has completed nearly $ 60 billion in investment sales , debt and structured finance transactions . Based out of JLL ’ s Tampa office , Peek will report to Americas Capital Markets CEO Mark Gibson and partner with Kevin Davis , Americas CEO for JLL ’ s Hotels & Hospitality group . Before joining JLL , Peek served as president and COO at Hodges Ward Elliott , where he led a global team responsible for executing institutional-grade commercial real estate transactions .
BILL RYAN JOINS BWH HOTELS
BWH Hotels has appointed Bill Ryan as senior vice president and chief technology officer . He will report to BWH Hotels President and CEO Larry Cuculic .
In his new role , Ryan will oversee the technology management team and assist the brand ’ s overarching digital strategy and transformation . In his most recent role , he served as the vice president of digital commerce and customer technology at Backcountry .
Ryan has worked across retail brands for 15 years and enabled revenue growth at consumer-focused brands , including PetSmart , Urban Outfitters and Backcountry .
MIKE METCALF ’ S NEW ROLE AT HQ HOTELS
HQ Hotels & Residences , the new lifestyle hospitality brand led by sbe Chairman and CEO Sam Nazarian , has named Mike Metcalf president . Metcalf brings more than 40 years of hospitality experience and joins the HQ Hotels team from Crescent Hotels & Resorts , where he served as COO , executive vice president , senior vice president , operations and vice president business development over his 18 years .
AETHOS NAMES NEW COO
Aethos , the boutique hotel and member club brand , has welcomed Christophe Thomas as the new chief operating officer . Thomas brings years of international experience and a track record of leading luxury hospitality properties . He will drive the strategic direction and operational excellence of the Aethos Hotels brand . Before joining Aethos , Thomas served as general manager of several properties across the U . S ., including the Palace Hotel in San Francisco . Most recently , Thomas curated experiential travel adventures worldwide after serving as the general manager of Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris .
