La Réserve Eden au Lac ’ s initial concept came to the visionary designer in a flash . “ No other hotel has our property ’ s lake views , and that ’ s where Philippe ’ s cleverness comes in ,” Finan says . “ His first day on site he said , ‘ OK , this will be an imaginary yacht club .’” With Reybier and Starck ’ s shared passion for sailing , the idea made perfect sense .
Public spaces account for 95 % of the ground floor to maximize views of the lake from large bay windows — and increase ROI . The Eden Kitchen & Bar seats 100 at full capacity , although some tables have been removed for social distancing here and also in the Peruvian-Japanese restaurant , La Muña , in the rooftop cupola . La Muña ’ s 30-seat interior recalls the hull of a ship and offers 360-degree city and Alpine views from its two 35-seat terraces .
