Meanwhile , Delano South Beach will reopen later this year under Accor ’ s Ennismore banner after a multi-year renovation , while The Mandarin Oriental on Brickell Key
will close at the end of May before reopening in 2030 as Mandarin Oriental , Miami and The Residences at Mandarin Oriental .
EYE ON DESIGN The redesign of The Shelborne was led by ADC Atelier and incorporates a mix of Miami Art Deco and Miami Modernism . Updates include a newly created 4,000-square-foot grand lobby bar with restored double-height windows and an 18th Street facade . Original elements , such
as the hotel ’ s iconic façade , pool and landmark diving board , have been restored to preserve its original 1950s style and character .
Guestrooms feature warm , earthy tones and custom details like ceramic sconces and travertine floors . The hotel will also offer high-end suites , including a 1,700-squarefoot two-bedroom penthouse suite with an outdoor terrace and panoramic ocean views and a two-bedroom terrace suite featuring a collection of vintage and modern sculptural accessories and a large outdoor terrace .
“ The Shelborne project presented an exciting opportunity to blend timeless Art Deco elements with modern luxury ,” said Aaron David Clarke , principal of ADC Atelier . “ Our focus was on respecting the building ’ s storied past while crafting spaces that feel both inviting and contemporary for today ’ s guests .”
The food and beverage program is being developed in partnership with the Lowder-Tascarella team , led by
Michelin-starred Chef Abram Bissell and beverage expert Christopher Lowder . Dining options will include a signature restaurant , cocktail lounge , lobby bar and café and a poolside bar and oceanfront beach club .
The hotel will also feature a 24-hour fitness center , wellness program and a beach club . A local membership program will provide access to beach and wellness amenities . Additionally , the property includes more than 30,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor event space , including a terrace and event lawn .
In December , the hotel announced key leadership appointments : Guy Chetwynd as managing director ; Mariannie Santiago as general manager ; and Oliver Morgan as director of sales and marketing .
