At the helm of Soho House ’ s design team since 2009 , Charles has conceptualized and implemented design concepts at new Soho House properties around the world , in addition to putting her own touches on a number of refurbished properties . With each Soho House boasting its own unique style , Charles has drawn upon inspiration from broad sources , such as a property ’ s geographic location , flea markets , and even eBay .
Her meticulous attention to detail and finishes has made her a stand-out in the industry . For Charles , missing just one element could mean the difference between a design hit or flop . “ An average chair looks amazing on a great floor , or it becomes a bad chair on a bad floor ,” she says . “ It ’ s not just about the pretty colors .
