This didn't have too much of an impact on attendees, as it gave them a chance to have a look at the race cards and change any notes into coins for ease of betting once the night was underway.
Risk assessments were conducted prior to the event, as well as an equipment check before the start of the evening to ensure everything was working correctly, regarding sound and projectors etc.
There was one small technical issue where thecommentary for one of the races cut out, however the hosts used their initiative and
started to improvise commentary for the race until the sound was quickly resumed by the team member in charge of the presentation.
The betting system was very efficient, as it allowed attendees to quickly place bets before the race and buy horses. Bets only cost £1 to place, to minimise the risk that attendees would be dissatisfied if they weren't successful, which is a large issue in the real world (Gupta & Derevensky, 2000)(Udovicic, 1998).
