His sales pitch turned out to be more accurate than he initially realized!“ Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied”( Matthew 5:6). Many young people are spiritually starving. In our weekly gatherings over meals and Scripture, we’ ve recently witnessed two more young men declare their desire to follow Christ. Food has played a key role in building these relationships, so as long as people are hungry, we’ ll keep feeding both their bodies and their souls.
Yes, this young man’ s name may mean“ storm,” but his face tells a different story now. He radiates joy; his life is a testimony that Christ still calms storms today. I shared with him the story of Jesus calming the storm and noted how his countenance has changed as he has grown closer to Christ. He smiled and nodded,“ Yes, this is true!” One Sunday, we spoke about baptism and some of the misunderstandings he had. A few days later, he came for a final dinner and declared that he wanted to be baptized before he left Tokyo, as his time as a student was complete. What a joy it was to celebrate with him!
Will you pray that he takes the Gospel message and continues sharing it with others?
