”Confidence isn’t ‘I hope they like me’, confidence is ‘I’ll be ok if they don’t like me’.”
I was also interested in how he chooses his outfit. He said that he doesn’t really pic his outfit the day before but he just wears what he feels like in the morning. Since we are talking about the arts, he also mentioned that he loves dancing. He explains:
’I’ve always loved listening to music. My dad was a DJ and he always played different kinds of music, so I grew up listening to different types of music. I always wanted to dance, I always tapped my foot and all kind of that basic stuff.’’
He says that he loved and loves Michael Jackson and especially the moonwalk.
Mr. Shawn has this beautiful ring on his middle finger and he told us the story behind it. The ring has been in his family for 5 generations. His grandfather bought the ring when he was moving from Europe to the U.S.A. It is made of gold and decorated with little lions on the side. We also talked about his opinion on Slovenia. He said that the land is gorgeous, but he found the people strange, because in
Minnesota everyone smiles at each other, even if they are strangers. They exchange greetings and can be easily involved in a conversation. Here everyone is quiet and he said that it is weird for him. He thinks that the atmosphere of the school is very energetic and that he enjoys seeing kids happy in school. He also said that the students are very motivated to work and that he has noticed this as a difference to the USA.
I think that Mr. Shawn is having a great time here in Slovenia. We learned some pretty interesting things about him. We definitely enjoyed the interview and we hope you enjoyed it too.
