SABALO 27

The Sabalo 27 was designed as a hybrid to slice waves and deliver a smooth , stable and dry ride . The deep-V bow entry incorporates double strakes with reverse chines running aft to create lift and exceptional maneuverability . The reverse chines also deflect water downward , keeping occupants dry on choppy days . In addition , a flat pad at the stern creates a stable running surface and allows the boat to operate efficiently with less horsepower , as well as float in water usually reserved for much smaller vessels .

The transom is rounded so that water rolls off the sides when she ’ s powered in reverse instead of over the top . Her interior features a true self-bailing cockpit ( it does not drain into the bilge ) with walk-around gunnels and a large rear deck that houses a 35-gallon baitwell and two storage lockers ( or optional 10-gallon crab pots ). Her anchor locker features a built-in hanger for easy access . There are five lockers in the floor ( besides the bilge ). Two of them being large enough for lockable rod storage , and the largest an insulated fish box . The spacious console has enough room for all of today ’ s modern electronics . Owners have multiple options when building the boat , including console style , a raised front deck with storage and an extra 65-gallon livewell / leaning post with integrated tackle center .
Unlike other recreational boats , Sabalo brand boats are built using high-grade lamination materials that yield a vastly superior composite . It all begins with UV-resistant npg-isophthalic gelcoat with superior elongation that resists cracks , blushes and blisters .
That means the hull , deck and other parts stay shiny and blemishfree much longer . All of their composites are built using a superior laminate of bi-axial and tri-axial fiberglass fabrics that are applied in multiple layers and in differing directions with overlapping seams . This means the parts are extremely strong . In addition , the fabric layers sandwich high-density closed-cell foam coring that provides rigidity , as well as flotation . These composite layers are chemically bonded to one another using a high-grade UV-resistant polyester resin that is specifically formulated for maximum corrosion resistance , excellent impact strength and extreme tensile elongation . All of this means that their composite laminates are stronger , stiffer and lighter than those used by the majority of the recreational boat manufacturing industry .
The use of high-tech materials comes at an increased cost , but the resulting ride and performance makes it well worth the added expense .
The hallmark of Sabalo brand boats is the use of a distinctive sheerline that accentuates an upswept bow that is both beautiful and functional . The Sabalo bow provides additional buoyancy to the boat and minimizes spray in heavy seas . Also reminiscent of classic fishing boats is Sabalo ’ s use of enclosed transoms . The enclosed transom provides more room in the cockpit , better steering / handling at slower speeds and noise reduction , since the motor is behind a higher transom . In addition , the enclosed transom allows owners to opt for a Porta BracketTM or a flotation / swim bracket .
