Everyone does not wake up and say I am going to be depressed today. Something happens
mentally that initiates the depression. There is medication to help with the depression/anxiety.
It is definitely a tool for people to use if they have an imbalance of emotional states or depres-
sion. Another opinion for people is going to a therapist. Therapists can help people figure out
their mental thoughts and help people what they are going through. Sometimes just having
someone to listen is good enough. People often get scared of admitting help and will go seek
comfort, advice, and refuge in their friends. Friends who are willing to lend a shoulder and an
ear truly care about others needs and sometimes will put them above their own against their
best judgement. Having a support group is important. They can help you cheer up or be there
for you when you need it most.
Sadness in college is something that will never go away. It can be a constant reminder
of the struggles and the pain on daily basis trying to balance a high GPA, a job, and relation-
ships with other people. During college there is usually catalysis to make students sad. The
catalysis can be constant anxiety, keeping scholarships, and keeping your grades afloat
amongst other things going on in your life. There are things that people can do to help with the
sadness. These are not the only options which are medication, therapy, or friends. At the end
of the day, sadness is not a irregular emotion. It is something that everyone in college faces
and goes through.
