Overall my poll did support my hypothesis that neglectful parents cause children with low self-esteem.
In conclusion, there is a problem with self-love and self-esteem in our society. It can be caused by physiological and sociological
factors. However, we see that this sense of self-love is highly correlated to the child parent relationship of philia . In Taylor Swift’s song,
“The Best Day” we see the positive impact that a loving parent can have on a child. However, in the research done by Maxwell and Huprich
we learn that neglectful parents have a negative impact on children’s self-esteem. Overall, we learn that our relationship with our parents
has a significant impact on our ability to learn self-love and self-esteem.
