The Future Adventures of the Greater Bay Area Heep Yunn Primary School, Shing, Isis - 12 I am lying on the green grass outside my house, staring at the cloudless and vibrant sky. Although I am looking at the good view, I don’t feel pleasant, but unfamiliar. It’s because I am one of the families who moved to this new place. Tomorrow will be my first day of school, which I’m really nervous about. I have never feel nervous before because I’m always the popular kid at school. I feel confident whenever I’m walking down the hallways. But my dad got a new job which required to work in here, so the whole family moved to this place. Things are different here comparing to the old place we used to live in. Every family who lives here got a bigger house than we usually have because we have boundaries here. I always want a bigger house and I finally get one. Everything is larger that we have more place for activities. The technology there is very advanced that people don’t have to work for a long time. They get to spend more time with their family, I’m extremely estatic about it. My parents worked at weekends before so we don’t have quality family time. Now, we can always enjoy family time. People call this place Utopia because things here are nearly ‘perfect’. Almost, the kids here are requested to learn how to dominate a motorbike. We have to drive them to school or travel to places by ourselves because we must learn how to be independent. We won’t see any six-storey carparks as it’s very spacious here. It don’t even take more than one hour’s time to visit the countryside such as Sai Kung as the greenery is just near where you live. Theme parks are often seen in this place. As they are much bigger than Hong Kong’s Ocean Park and Disneyland. In addition, there are some well known Universities here, that we no longer need to travel a long way to the US or the UK to study. On the first day of school, I meet a girl named Gina who came from Hong Kong too. We don’t have any classes on the first day but our teacher will take us around to explore or visit some tourist places. We will widen our horizons and learn more about Mainland China. Our teacher tells us that the air here is fresher and nicer than Hong Kong and Macau. Back in Hong Kong, we have many air pollutions. Some people suffered from asthma because of the air pollution. Living here, people don’t have to worry about this problem. Fresh air can clean our lungs and freshen us up, so we can work and learn better. Stuff here is all about technology and STEM. We also visit a new museum there which explained how machines and factories work in Utopia. I realize that the main reason of why people don’t have long work time hours, is because of AI. AI means Artificial Intelligence. It is a system kind of thing that can be applicable in our daily lives. They can response like humans and could combine large amounts of data with fast and iterative processing. Utopia has a complete medical system and professional medical staff to support Utopia’s quality medical services in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau. There are smart hospitals and high standard Healthcare system in Utopia served with dedicated healthcare professionals. We now have no health worries no matter where we are in Utopia. Robots are also used to work in factories so the efficiency is higher. Workers are more effortless so they can have more free time. Utopia is developing rapidly and citizens here are living peacefully. They don’t have to worry about poverty and pollutions. People are well fed and clothed. The economy of Utopia is very advanced and the facilities are complete. The whole community is reforested and factories wouldn’t produce carbon dioxide anymore. We plant trees on the streets so we can make the environment green and healthy. Living here gave me the opportunity to speak Putonghua. My Putonghua wasn’t that fluent back in Hong Kong. But now, I used Putonghua to communicate with my friends and classmates. I really like this whole new world now because it was spacious and the technology here was very advanced. I am really grateful to be one of the families which moved to this place. Also, I am really impressed by the development in the particular in the innovation and technology front and I am very happy that Hong Kong is one of the most important cities of the Greater Bay Area. The advantages of Southern China, Hong Kong and Macau have blended together with a lot of benefits plus untapped opportunities. I hope I can have more journeys here and future adventures at the Greater Bay Area!
