Old Shanghai (Civil War)

I
n a cold winter, the friends James and Jack were freezing. You may be wondering why it was so cold and what
happened to those little innocent children.
There was a civil war between Taiwan and Shanghai. Many men had been sent to fight against their own
country and a lot of people had been killed .The general of the arm Officer Tim was thinking hard for a way to
win the war.
James was an orphan. He was adopted by Jack’s family. That made them brothers. He did not say much but
he was very active. He usually climbed up tall trees when he was playing hide and seek with his good friend
because he never got tired never. .James was active while his brother was quiet but very talkative he could talk
over many people but not during class.
Well now the problem was that Shanghai was losing and half of Shanghai was destroyed. James and Jack lost
their parents who were hiding in the valleys. James searched for food and clothes because it was snowing. The two
boys nearly froze to death. Luckily, James found some silk and sewed it into his warm clothes while his brother
made new friends and talked to them to get them to join them.
One day, James found some weapons and brought them back to Jack. They united into an army. “We were
hiding from the Taiwanese soldiers. Soon, they will be hiding from us’’ Jack said.
After five days since the little army united, Tim finally thought of a solution. They had to fight.
Jack read a lot of books about cars before what we call Black Monday. We call it black Monday because it
was a Monday and it was very extremely bad. James found a car and the key was inside. They drove for a long
period of time until they found a good “home”. James and many of them went looking for furniture and the rest
stayed at the new shelter .
They made their new shelter a military camp. With many weapons, food and armor. They even adopted
pets too!
Tim was Jack and James’ uncle. The brothers found Tim, their uncle and military general, with the military
men digging. They all dug into the Europeans’ military camp and killed all of them .
The Taiwanese king sent outlaws and gangsters to sneak up on them, but they were all seen by snipers and
shot on the spot. The Taiwanese army seemed to be losing.
One minister told the king, “ We can buy many of America’s weapons”. So they did just that.
The general was drinking coffee with the boys when they suddenly heard a big bomb sound .
The Taiwanese people used the weapons to blow them up Shanghai. It was very dangerous. The king of
Taiwan was laughing but when the king said , “Fire”, there were no more bullets left, so they had to fight hand to
hand.
The result was that Taiwan lost and surrendered to them, but suddenly, Jack jumped behind James to save
him from a bullet being shot from behind him.
James cried a lot. Jack was buried and everything had turned normal. James is now happy but he still is
grumpy about Jack. However, he was realized that people die and live.
