private hands in 1922, it was
considerably modernised. Fur-
ther extensive work was carried
out after it became a hotel in
1947. Great care has been done
to maintain the character of the
Castle as a stately, historic and
comfortable residence. This
work continues now with the
new owners who took over in
June of 2000. They have gone
some way to restore some of the
former glory to this magnificent
and fascinating historic build-
ing.
