Parks and Recreation held multiple events throughout the year , Communications Manager Megan Whitworth said .
Fourth Friday made its debut last May . Fourth Friday is a family-friendly event held in partnership between the city , the Siloam Springs Chamber of Commerce , and Main Street Siloam Springs that features live music , vendors , food trucks , and activities for the entire family , according to a news release from Whitworth .
Last year ’ s Fourth Friday was held from May through October and coincided with the Memorial Park Music Series at the Chautauqua Amphitheater next to Memorial Park . Artists included the Shannon Wurst Band , NWA Jazz & More Orchestra , 449 Rewind , Siloam Music Festival performers and more , Whitworth said .
The second Hispanic Heritage Festival was held in September . The festival attracted more than 2,500 people and celebrated Hispanic heritage with food trucks , live music , artists , performers and vendors , Whitworth said .
In December , the Heritage League held the annual Christmas Parade that ran from Siloam Springs Middle School on Holly Street to the Masonic Lodge on Wright Street .
Popular events returned this year including Family Game Night in January , the Daddy-Daughter Dance in February , Kite Day in April and the Kids Fishing Derby in June .
On April 8 , the city held an eclipse party at Memorial Park to celebrate the 2024 eclipse . More than 700 people attended , Whitworth said .
Fourth Friday returned May 24 with Grady Nichols and the Full House Band as the musical guests .
“ So many incredible events are happening in our corner of Northwest Arkansas this summer , and I can ’ t wait to make more summer memories with everyone ,” Whitworth said .
Fourth Friday will be held on the fourth Friday of the month through August and feature different themes and performers .
Last May , the city held a pool opening ceremony to kick off the 2023 summer swimming season . Last July saw ribbon cuttings for the WOKA Trail and the Safe Haven Baby Box at Fire Station No . 1 .
Last November , a ribbon cutting was held for the Healing Garden behind Parks and Recreation . The garden was constructed in partnership with the Rotary Club of Siloam Springs .
