Rutland Regional’s 2018 Health Practitioners of the year DOCTOR AND NURSE PRACTITIONER HONORED E ach year Rutland Regional Medical Center recognizes a physician and a nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or other advanced practice provider whose contributions to our community, staff, and patients represent the highest ideals in health care. The 2018 Physician of the Year was Dr. Jasminder Multani, and 2018 NP/PA of the Year was Juanita Morris. Dr. Multani joined Rutland Regional Medical Center as a hospital medicine physician in 2010. He received a bachelor of arts in economics and biology from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey and medical degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Dr. Multani is board-certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine. His colleagues describe him as “respectful,” “thoughtful,” “an exceptional listener” and “highly skilled physician.” Dr. Multani reflected on why he believes Rutland Regional is a special DR. JASMINDER MULTANI place to work. “Initially, I was only contracted to work for Rutland Regional for one year, and was supposed to leave for a fellowship. I decided not to pursue the fellowship and remain here. I have done assignments at other hospitals, and found Rutland Regional to be very unique. The people that work here are what make it so special. Then there are the nurses, LNAs, therapists, pharmacists, office staff, maintenance, security professionals, housekeeping, and everyone else that makes this hospital run. There are so many wonderful, caring people at Rutland Regional, many of whom I have come to call my friends. That is why I love working here.” Juanita Morris, APRN, has been a nurse practitioner with Rutland Digestive Services since 2015. She received her undergraduate degree from North Adams State College, and masters of science/ adult nurse practitioner degree from Russell Sage College in Troy, New York. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and has brought over 20 years of nursing, counseling and health- care management to her position. When speaking of Juanita, her co-workers have said, “She treats every patient with respect, care and compassion. Her sense of humor and
