Budget Cuts on Sports
Recently, Henrico County has had budget cuts on schools and education. The cut has not only hurt education, but middle school sports as well. Many things have occured due to the loss in money to the schools. This has forced many teams to cut back on what they choose to buy for apparel and what not. This is really making an impact.
When Henrico County cut budgets for schools, this created a huge controversy for sports teams in the area. Some teams have even started reusing jerseys from previous years to save money. Additionally, instead of teams having home and away jerseys, they only have one jersey total. This may not sound very controversial, but from a playes perspective it is. Players want better equipment to practice with so they can improve their skills. All of these things revolve around each other and creates huge arguments. Players want Henrico County to give more money designated just for sports. This would make a huge impact!
So when Henrico County cuts budgets, no one is happy. Arguments rise and players are upset that they cannot better their game. They believe that school sports is a place to compete and better your skills at the same time. So if Henrico County does not give a little bit more money to sports and schools, things will continue to go down hill!
