Texas Rangers Hit
Key Milestones to
Kick Off Globe Life
Field Project
T
he Texas Rangers and HKS
released revised renderings of
Globe Life Field in September,
one of several major developments
for the $1.1 billion ballpark
project under way in Arlington’s
Entertainment District.
Besides providing fans and the
public a glimpse at the park’s new
look, the Texas Rangers met several
other significant milestones on
the project this summer. Those
include securing financing, locking
in a naming rights deal, beginning
major infrastructure work, awarding
construction contracts and
announcing a groundbreaking date
for the ballpark.
Globe Life Field will open adjacent
to the Texas Live! entertainment
complex, south of Globe Life Park, in
2020.
Globe Life Field Design
HKS, ranked as one of the top sports
and entertainment design firms
in the country, discussed the new
ballpark’s design at a press briefing
September 21 at Globe Life Park.
Some of the features include soaring
brick arches that line the concourse
and seating configurations that
place fans, even on the upper decks,
closer to the field. Other features
include unobstructed views of the
field for fans walking along the
concourse as well as large glass
exterior windows designed to bring
in natural light and provide inviting
views inside and outside of the park.
