ASK THE EXPERTS

" As we move forward, it’ s important that everyone is informed about the new ballpark and the investment we’ re making in Arlington," City Marketing and Communications Manager Jay Warren said. " Think of the Home Plate Update as a regular progress report that informs about the project, celebrates milestones, highlights timelines and provides necessary transparency about the design / construction, contractors and financing."
In this edition of Home Plate Update, you can read more about the ballpark’ s design and location, get a sense of the architect’ s vision for the new ballpark, learn about the City’ s commitment to including minority-and women-owned businesses for this project, celebrate the Hall of Fame induction of Ranger star Ivan“ Pudge” Rodriguez, and get a sneak peek at the plans for this year’ s Opening Day.
These aren’ t the only places where you can find information about the project. The City of Arlington has a webpage dedicated to the project. It contains links to all project documents, financial statements, park designs and videos. Once construction begins on the ballpark, we will include a live webcam, so you can see the construction as it happens. The Texas Rangers also have a webpage for the project where you can learn more about their plans and leave suggestions. Finally, the City will provide regular project updates and articles on our website, Facebook page, Twitter page and YouTube channel.
We hope you’ ll find the Home Plate Update informative and engaging as we chronicle the American Dream City’ s latest dream becoming a reality. As always, we welcome your input. Please feel free to provide your feedback on our website or social media pages.

INTERVIEW WITH MICHAEL JACOBSON

The City of Arlington’ s Office of Communication talked to Arlington Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Michael Jacobson about the excitement surrounding the new Rangers ballpark and the economic impact the project and Texas Live! will have on the entire community.“ Sports facilities, like Globe Life Park in Arlington and AT & T Stadium, have been great financially for our city, bringing in millions of dollars of revenue from visitors and tourists,” Jacobson said.“ The new Rangers ballpark and Texas Live! entertainment complex will create thousands of new jobs and millions of new visitors for Arlington. They will only add to the revenue the local economy receives from outside our city. This revenue has helped our families enjoy the lowest sales tax rate and one of the lowest property tax rates in North Texas.”
